It’s easy to enter:

1. Upload your 3-minute or less reel to Vimeo
2. Add the tag: reels@motion to your reel on Vimeo
3. Tweet the Vimeo link to your reel with the hashtag: #motiontv

how do i play?

We’re going to have a little scavenger hunt. All you need to do, is complete these steps…

1. Follow @motion09 on Twitter – we’ll  follow you back!

2. Look for a message @motion09 Tweeted on 06.18.09 about this contest. When you find it, re-tweet it.

3. Find two ‘rock stars’ who will be speaking at motion09 on Twitter. Get their Twitter IDs and follow them.

4. After you find two of the ‘rock stars’ tweet a message to your followers. The message can say anything you want… but must include:

@motion09
@rock-star1 (replace this with their actual Twitter ID)
@rock-star2 (replace this with their actual Twitter ID)
#animation
#motiongraphics
#vfx

That will leave you with approximately 75-80 characters to play with. Creativity is encouraged…and will be rewarded!

5. Each Tweet you send is considered an entry. We’ll be able to track who’s entered through the @motion09 tag. You can enter once a day – until the contest ends. But…each Tweet you send must be different. Each Tweet has to contain all of the tags listed in step 4, but your messages need to be . . . creatively unique!

how will the winner be chosen?

motion is all about creativity . . . so your creativity’s going to weigh in big! Here’s how the point system will work:

- one point for following us on Twitter
– one point for re-tweeting our Tweet announcing this contest
– one point each for up to two motion09 ‘rock-stars’ you find on Twitter

Additionally, each of your Tweets will be ranked by the motion team as follows:

- 5 points: that was amazingly creative!
– 3 points: there’s definitely potential here.
– 1 points: zzzzzzzzzzzzzz…are you talking to me?

The points are added up, and the one with the most points by midnight on the 4th of July – wins!

one last step…

Oh yeah -– the winner will be announced by @motion09 on Twitter, Sunday, July 5th at noon (MDT | GMT-6). The winner will have 48 hours to claim their prize by Tweeting the following:

“I won an {m}ticket on #motion.tv for being ‘the most creative’! I’ll be attending @motion09 in ABQ, NM October 11-14. See you there!”
